Bubble Cotton Plaid Pajama Set

Bubble cotton is the quiet reason this set is so comfortable. The fabric has a lightly textured, crinkled surface that holds itself slightly off the skin, so it breathes well and never sticks the way flat jersey can on a warm night. Cut in a soft plaid with a Japanese-minimalist plainness, the short-sleeved top and matching shorts read as calm rather than loud, which is exactly what you want at eleven at night.

The fit is deliberately loose. The top has a relaxed body and dropped, easy sleeves; the shorts sit softly at the waist with room through the hip, so nothing pinches when you curl up or sit cross-legged on the sofa. It is a set that stays comfortable through a whole evening of lounging, then works just as well for sleeping, and it holds its shape and colour through repeated washing.

Sizes run US 6 to US 12. These garments are cut to Chinese sizing, which runs smaller than US sizing, so order by the US column on the size guide rather than the supplier label, and take the next size up if you prefer an even looser fit. Machine wash cold with similar colours on a gentle cycle, avoid bleach, and tumble dry low or hang to dry.
