A knitted acrylic throw with tassels at both ends, worked in a checkered and three-dimensional diamond weave. It is a decorative piece first: laid across the back of a sofa, folded at the end of a bed, or draped over a dining chair, the texture and the tassel fringe do considerably more for a room than a plain flat blanket manages to do.
Acrylic is the right fibre for a throw used in warmer months. It is soft and smooth against the skin, holds its colour well through washing, and keeps a room-temperature feel rather than the trapped heat of a heavy fleece, so it works as a light summer cover as well as a decorative layer. Nine colours are available, running from cream and light grey through to navy, brown, yellow and dark pink.
Use it on a couch, a bed, a dining chair, a cushion, or outdoors on a warm evening. The knit is stable enough to keep its shape when folded and displayed, and loose enough to drape rather than sit stiff. Measurements are taken by hand and can vary by three to five centimetres. Wash it cool, dry it flat where possible, and comb the tassels straight with your fingers while damp.
