Newborn Muslin Swaddle Blanket, Set of 3

Three cotton muslin swaddles arrive in one set, so there is always a clean one within reach while the others are in the wash. The muslin weave is light and open, which is what lets it sit breathably against a newborn's skin instead of trapping heat the way a heavier blanket does. Each piece measures a generous 110 by 110 centimetres, giving you enough fabric for a properly tucked wrap that will not pull loose the first time your baby stretches an arm out.

That size is also why the set keeps earning its place long after the swaddling stage ends. The same square works as a stroller cover on a bright afternoon, a nursing cover in a cafe, a burp cloth over your shoulder, a clean layer on an unfamiliar changing surface, or a light bed sheet in the crib on a warm night. Two designs are available, so you can choose the one that suits the nursery you already have.

Muslin has a habit of improving with use. Every wash softens the weave a little further, so the wrap you reach for at six months feels better than the one you unfolded on day one. Machine wash warm, tumble dry low, and skip fabric softener to keep the cotton absorbent. Always supervise your baby while a swaddle is in use, keep loose fabric well clear of the face, and stop swaddling once your baby begins to roll.
