Shawl Nap Blanket

Most blankets get the size wrong for a desk. At 90 by 140 centimetres this one is cut deliberately small, with shawl proportions that sit over your shoulders and stay there instead of sliding down and pooling on the floor every time you reach for the keyboard. Across your lap it covers you without trailing into the wheels of an office chair, which is the difference between wearing a blanket and fighting one.

It is thickened for winter but kept light enough to wear for an hour without your shoulders noticing. That balance makes it a genuinely multi-use piece: a desk throw in a cold office, a lap quilt in a reading chair, a small sofa blanket for one person, or a travel layer for a train, a car or a plane, where a full-size blanket is more fabric than anybody needs.

Machine wash it cool on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low, and it recovers its shape without stretching at the shoulders.
