Description

This is a duvet cover, not a duvet. It is a thick plush case that your own quilt, comforter or blanket goes inside. Both faces carry a full ribbed plush pile, so whichever way it lands on the bed the side against you is the soft one, and the fabric has enough body that the whole bed feels heavier and warmer for it.

Two sizes are available. The 150 by 200 centimetre size fits a single duvet, while 200 by 230 centimetres covers a queen or king quilt with enough drop on each side that it stays put when somebody rolls over. The pillowcases shown in the photographs are there to dress the bed and are not included.

The plush surface holds up to daily use and does not shed the way a cheap fleece does. Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle, keep bleach and fabric softener away from it, and tumble dry on low before shaking the pile out to restore the loft. Hand measurement means the finished size can vary slightly from the figures given.

Thick double sided plush blanket on a bed

Plush On Both Faces

Both sides carry a full plush pile, so there is no thin backing fabric waiting to end up against your skin halfway through the night.

A Cover With Real Weight

A thin cotton cover disappears the moment it is on the bed. This one has enough weight and pile that the bed feels different for it, while your own quilt carries on doing the insulating.

Sized To Hang Properly

Cut to hang past the mattress edge rather than stopping at it. The9thHour would rather oversize a winter cover than leave you short.

Frequently Asked Questions

How thick is it really?

Thick for a duvet cover. There is a full ribbed plush pile on each face rather than the single printed side you get on a cotton set. It is the cover that is thick, though; the warmth itself still comes from whatever you put inside it.

Which size should I choose?

Two sizes. 150 by 200 centimetres fits a single duvet, and 200 by 230 covers a queen or king quilt. Pick the larger one if you want a proper overhang on both sides.

Is the duvet included?

No. This is the cover on its own. It goes over your existing quilt, comforter or blanket. The pillowcases in the photographs are not included either.

Will it fit in my washing machine?

The 200 by 230 size is best washed in a larger drum or at a laundrette. Wash cool, dry on low, and the pile lifts straight back up.

Does the plush flatten?

Not with normal use. Skipping fabric softener is the main thing, since it coats the fibres and is the usual reason a plush blanket loses its loft.
