Vanilla Cube and Ball Soy Candle

This one earns its place on the shelf before you ever light it. A cube stacked with a ball, poured in soy wax, it reads as a small piece of sculpture by daylight and turns into a pool of warm light after dark. It suits a coffee table, a bookshelf or a bathroom counter where a plain jar candle would look like an afterthought rather than a considered part of the room.

The scent is simple and comforting: soft, familiar vanilla. Vanilla is the easy one to live with, sweet and warm without taking over the space, which makes it a good pick for the hour before bed or for a room where people are eating and talking. Soy wax burns slowly and evenly, so the shape holds its outline for a long stretch of the candle's life instead of slumping early.

This is a single candle, not a set. One is enough to anchor a tray, a windowsill or a bedside table, and it gives as well as it styles - order a second or third if you want to group them or keep one aside as a gift. Light it on a heat-safe surface, away from curtains, books and anything else that can catch, keep it out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a lit candle unattended.

• One sculptural soy candle in a stacked cube and ball shape
• Soft vanilla scent that warms a room without overpowering it
• Soy wax burns slowly and evenly, holding the shape as it melts
• Decorative unlit, so it works as shelf and coffee-table styling
• Burn on a heat-safe surface and never leave a flame unattended
